3-Day Tour: Marrakech & The Secrets of the Draa Valley

Day 1: Marrakech ➔ Ouarzazate ➔ Agdz (Gateway to the Draa Valley)

Driving time: ~5 hours total (excluding stops)

• Morning (Crossing the High Atlas):

  • 07:30 AM: Departure from Marrakech driving south.

  • Drive through the spectacular landscapes of the High Atlas via the legendary Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260 m altitude).

  • Photo stops in Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides.

• Lunch: In Ouarzazate or at a panoramic restaurant near Aït Benhaddou.

• Afternoon (Entering the Draa):

  • Cross the Tizi n'Tinififft Pass (1,660 m) to transition into the moonlike landscapes of the Anti-Atlas.

  • Arrive in Agdz, a charming town marking the official start of the Draa palm grove.

  • Visit the famous Caïd Ali Kasbah (Tamnougalt Kasbah), one of the oldest in the region.

• Evening:

  • Late afternoon walk through the heart of the palm grove.

  • Dinner and Overnight stay: In a riad or traditional kasbah in Agdz or Tamnougalt.

Day 2: Agdz ➔ Zagora ➔ Tamgroute ➔ Zagora

• Morning (Heart of the Palm Grove):

  • Drive along the Draa River through a continuous green ribbon of thousands of date palms and earthen kasbahs.

  • Arrive in Zagora, the regional capital, famous for its historic sign "Tombouctou 52 days".

• Lunch: In Zagora.

• Afternoon (Culture & Desert):

  • Continue to Tamgroute (20 km south of Zagora):

    • Visit the historic Quranic Library and its centuries-old manuscripts.

    • Discover the traditional green pottery workshops.

  • Drive to the Tinfou Dunes for your first desert experience.

  • Camel ride or walk through the dunes at sunset.

• Soirée / Evening:
